Boil Water Advisory from 11/16/2024 Lifted for Most Customers

Most customers can resume normal water usage.

The boil advisory issued on 11/16/2024 in response to an early-morning water main break in southeast Springfield has been lifted for 98.8% of customers

Roughly 342 customers are still under a boil water advisory due to pending testing results. These customers have been notified individually that they are still under the boil water advisory. Customers who have NOT been notified that they are still under the Boil Water Advisory can resume normal use of water

The boil order advisory was issued as a precautionary measure due to low pressures in the system resulting from a break of a 48-inch water main. All repairs are complete and tests for the lifted area returned negative for contamination. Test results on the remaining locations are expected back late this afternoon.

Customers no longer under the boil water advisory can resume normal water usage without taking additional measures. The water is safe to drink without boiling it first, as water quality tests have confirmed its safety. If your water is cloudy or discolored, run your faucets for a few minutes until the water runs clear.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience during this time. Thank you for understanding!
